The Madidi is considered one of the most biodiverse protected areas in the world due to the great variety of wild flora and fauna, excellent opportunity for scientific research.
The Madidi Identity Scientific Expedition indicates that the park has the greatest biological diversity in the world: 50% of the species of plants and animals in Bolivia: it is home to 1865 plants and 867 species of birds, 156 species of mammals, 84 species of amphibians, 71 species of reptiles and 192 species of fish. However, there are still many more species to be discovered.
If your route passes through the Pampas del Yacuma, during the boat rides, you will be able to appreciate alligators, anacondas, turtles, capybaras, and the possibility of swimming with pink dolphins. On night boat rides you will be amazed to see the eyes of the lizards.
National Geographic recognized Madidi National Park as one of the 20 places with the greatest tourist interest worldwide.
