ToroToro National Park

ToroToro means “mud pampa” (derived from Quechua “thuru thuru pampa”)

This national park offers extensive landscapes, deep canyons and huge caverns, as well as dinosaur footprints and fossils, cave paintings, a variety of archaeological sites, and pools of crystalline waters with beautiful waterfalls.

The Dinosaur footprints and fossils date back to the Cretaceous period (approximately 80 million years ago)

Here is the deepest cavern in Bolivia: Umajalanta with its enormous vaults and galleries that contrast with its narrow passages, where stalactites and stalagmites can be found. At the center of the cavern, there is a lagoon with blind fish.

The beautiful natural landscapes formed by waterfalls are part of the route to the Canyon and Vergel, where there are also dinosaur footprints and geological formations. It is a region of subtropical vegetation, home of scarlet macaws (endemic species of some regions in Bolivia, in danger of extinction) and condors.
