Sacred Lake of the Incas
per person
Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world, with its 3800 meters above sea level, also known as the Sacred Lake of the Incas.
It is said that the main Andean Deity known as Viracocha (or Wiracocha), rose from the “Isla del Sol” located in Lake Titicaca, and from there created the moon and the stars, and also created Manco Kapac and Mama Ocllo, the first Incas and founders of the Inca Empire.
Copacabana is the little town located on the shores of the Lake, where is located the Sanctuary of the Virgen Morena de Copacabana, the patron saint of Bolivia.
Due to its location, it is a strategic point to continue your Inca trip to Cusco/Machu Picchu, or if you are arriving from the Inca capital you can continue your trip to Uyuni, the largest Salt Desert in the World.
You can also make an extension to Peru to continue your Andean trip in South America.
